Welcome to The DIGITAL NEGATIVE and The DIGITAL PRINT Book website. I’ll be uploading example images from the books and additional goodies for download. The images from The DIGITAL NEGATIVE book will be DNG files using the The digital negative book recent lossy DNG option and the DNG will contain Snapshots for both the Before (default) and After (my adjustments   The Digital Negative has given me insights and a clarity (if you'll pardon the Lightroom pun) that I didn't have before.

The digital negative book book is a keeper. My focus is on Lightroom but the book is equally useful for Photoshop and Camera Raw, as the book covers those tools as well as the pertinent raw processing functions in  › Books › Computers & Technology › Graphics & Design.

The book is an interesting mix of history of development from an insider's view, humor, heavy geeky engineering stuff and direct discussion of how to optimize a master digital negative.

The software versions used in the book were Lightroom CCCamera Raw and Photoshop CC So, when I found out that the publisher wasn’t going to update the Real World Camera Raw series (for various reasons) and Martin Evening and I had agreed not do a Photoshop CS6 revision of our Adobe Photoshop CS5 for Photographers: The Ultimate Workshop I decided to pitch The Digital Negative book.

The book’s actual publication date was supposed to be Aug 2nd. But I’ve been told that people are already reading the Kindle version of the book so I’m trying to catch up with the content–sorry for the delay.
